If you love baking, one of the items you must consider when planning to remodel your kitchen is where to place your oven. You have two options: to buy a range or to purchase one or two wall ovens and a cooktop. Either of them can be a good choice, but, in Krier’s Construction’s opinion, you should consider the factors below to determine the most suitable solution for your house.
Cooking Capacity
If you choose a double oven, you will enjoy the cooking capacity that can only be equaled only by a 60-inch range. A 48-inch range unit does come with two ovens, but one is much smaller than the other.
Accessibility
Wall ovens are perfect for aging-in-place kitchen designs. Whereas the built-in ovens of ranges are near the floor, wall ovens are around the eye level so they are less stressful to use.
Cost
The range is the way to go to get the most bang for your buck. The price of two appliances almost always exceeds that of one with comparative features. This notion holds true even if you purchase a wall oven and a cooktop from the same source.
Space
If your floor space is at a premium, an adequately sized range will allow you to have a dedicated cooking zone that does not require a lot of room. Although a wall oven can be installed underneath a cooktop, doing so will diminish this baking appliance’s ease of use.
Aesthetics
Small details can make a huge impact. The front-facing knobs of ranges are an excellent example. These tiny features can suffice to turn your cooking zone into your kitchen focal point. Cooktops and wall ovens are not as stylish on their own.
